Modularity
Symbiant FIDS can be installed in small airports at a single screen. Requiring only a data connection, a discreet FIDS Controller slots behind the screen and provides flight information right where it’s needed.
And the system scales up to the busiest regional airports in the country. These installations house FIDS Controllers in back of house server rooms, using the latest technology to distribute content out to the right screens. Systems at this scale utilise a number of our additional features as below.
Screens
Symbiant FIDS can run on any modern screen, from consumer grade TVs to commercial panels and full LED video wall installations. We always recommend commercial equipment as it gives the best results and we’ve seen it last far longer, time and time again. We can also provide complete video wall solutions and install, or feed into shared big screens run by advertisers.
Boarding
Smooth passenger flow at boarding time is critical for airport operational efficiency and for a good passenger experience. Symbiant FIDS boarding management features include tailored gate screens, directing passengers to the correct gate or through the single portal to the correct stand beyond. Clear, uncluttered layouts help with this, as well as the use of dynamic directional arrows where necessary.
The timing of boarding states is driven direct from the airline feeds, but includes an attractively mounted iPad at the gate for realtime updates or complete manual control of the boarding process.
Check-in counter management
Check-in counter branding is increasingly digital, giving options for shared tenancy counters and also for reuse of screens for airport content when counters not in use. Symbiant FIDS screen control feature provides a unique, easy to use experience for airline and airport staff to control the content on screens, with options for control from each counter, or control from central locations.
